Some people function with their heads; and some others let their hearts rule. And then there are some whose emotions reflect the brilliance of their intellect. Safin Ahmed, whose craftsmanship seems to be a congenital skill, is an artist of the latter kind. His recent series of works "Agony" illustrates this in the individuality of his experimentations with forms. In it, he combines expressionism with fantasy to present a new dimension to his art. Safin does not use multiple objects as marionettes; rather he works with a single object that directly communicates with the viewer. This object can be compared to a single photograph in a photo album that reveals a spectrum of pain, loneliness, and agony.
