Pal Art ( 6 - 12 Century)

During the reign of the Pals (8 - 12 century), Bengal and Bihar had an identity that both shared. This was noticeable not only in the political and economic practices, but also in the religious and cultural orientations of that era. In fact, it was during this period in history that Bengal acquired the uniqueness that we identify it by even today. One of the ways in which this was manifested was in the emergence of the"bojrojaan" ideology in Buddhism, that in turn gave birth to an  artistic tradition characteristic of that time.

Four Bangladeshi Artists Rafiqun Nabi, Farida Zaman, M. Mithu and Kanak Chanpa Chakma are participating in "Olympic Fine Arts 2008" in Beijing . Jolrong team congratulates all of them!
